Kuroo x Reader: Happy Birthday

[Name] strolled through the halls, every few people calling her wishing her a happy birthday.

“Hey [Name]! Happy birthday!”

“Yo [Name] happy birthday, hope it’s great!”

“[Name] oh my gosh it’s your birthday!” Shimari squealed, engulfing [name] into a bear hug.

[Name] laughed, “Thanks Shimari but I need air!” she said trying to get out of her best friend’s bear hug. When she was release, [Name] smiled happily at her friend, “Thanks but my birthday’s that special.”

Shimari stared at her blankly, “You’re joking…. [Name] you’re so sweet almost everyone knows you! I bet a ton of people wished you a happy birthday already.” She said as a matter of fact.

[Name] stayed quiet because it was definitely true. She hummed indignantly, “Y-yeah but still…. Nothing out of the ordinary…”

Shimari laughed, “Yeah yeah, I wonder what Kuroo has planned for today~” she chimed knowingly.

At the mention of her boyfriend [Name] blushed, “What do you mean?”

“Oh come one [Name]! You know Kuroo always has something special for you when it’s a special occasion.” Shimari said placing a hand on her hips.

[Name] rolled her eyes with a smile, “Yeah yeah. Well whate –“ she started before the bell rang. “Ah, gotta go to class. Later Shimari!”

“Enjoy class~” She called out with a knowing smile.

[Name] went through the whole day without seeing Kuroo or his best friend Kenma. She thought that was a bit strange but wasn’t sure what to make of it. A few times she caught a glimpse of the bed head she recognized so easily but she could never catch up to him. By the time it was last period [Name] was a bit disappointed that she hadn’t seen Kuroo the whole day. She wasn’t upset that he hadn’t given her a gift, she was upset that he hadn’t even come to see her. She huffed with frustration, she had her last class with Kuroo and she would give him the silent treatment after giving him a piece of her mind.

Stepping into the class she paused, seeing a note on her desk. Walking over and picking it up it read: ‘ Happy Birthday [Name], I hope you’re ready! <3, Kuroo.’  [Name] raised a brow at the note. Ready? For what? Shaking that thought out she sat down and waited for class to start. Still no sign of the bed head. She looked around and wondered where everyone was. Soon Kuroo walked through the door, a bouquet of roses and a box of chocolates in hand with the familiar grin on his face. [Name] could only blink at the sudden appearance of the person she had wanted to see the whole day. “Kuroo? What’re you doing?”

Kuroo stopped before her desk, plopping down the bouquet and box of chocolates, “What do you think? Giving you a surprise silly. Hope you read the note ‘cause this isn’t all of it.” He grinned widely.

[Name] blinked with confusion, “What? What else is there?”

Kuroo motioned for her to stand, taking her hand and covering her eyes, “Ready?” he said as he walked her to the window.

“Y-yeah I guess? Kuroo what am I supposed to-“ she said as Kuroo uncovered her eyes and she gasped.
Out on the field spelled ‘Happy Birthday [Name]!’ with Kenma in front of it all, directing everyone. He looked up at the couple in the building and waved lazily. [Name] had a stupidly happy smile on her face as she looked at Kuroo, “Did you do all of this?!”

Kuroo grinned, scratching the back of his head, “With the help of Kenma, approval of staff and a few willing people yep!” He paused, “Ah though the staff was a little hard to persuade. Kenma said
it was something about my face scaring people into agreeing.” He shrugged.

[Name] laughed, “Of course. Your face is so scary it scared me right into your arms.” She giggled, hugging Kuroo. “This is amazing. Thank you Kuroo.” She smiled with a blush dusting her features.

Kuroo blushed, a goofy smile on his face as he held her kissing her lovingly on the lips. “You’re welcome. Happy birthday [Name].”

[Name] simply giggled in joy as she looked out onto the field and a thought came to mind, “Say. Does this mean class is cancelled?”
